ACTIVITIES

The Visitor Center

The visitors center stands on top of Combs Hill, which was once commanded by the Continental Army artillery.  Inside is an interpretive display area and the park office.  Artifacts recovered in battlefield archaeology are also on display.

(Open 9am - 4pm)

Picnic Tables and Playground

Great for a day outing. Bring a meal to enjoy outside, the kids to play and exercise or bring that paperwork or a book you have been meaning to get done.

 

Walking and Riding Trails

Hiking or horseback riding (no horse rentals) are great outdoor activities you can enjoy at the park. Dogs are permitted but must be kept on a leash.

Hunting

Hunting is permitted with special deer hunt permit only.

 

 

 

Sledding and Cross Country Skiing

Weather permitting sledding is available at the park. Come enjoy the runs they offer for sleds or ski cross country style. No ATV's, snowmobiles or other motorized vehicles permitted in the park.

Local Historic Sites of Interest

Monmouth Battlefield State Park is close to other historic sites as well. The Tennent Church, Covenhoven House and the Village Inn are examples.

Other Sites of Interest

The battlefield is also close to the shore, Freehold Racetrack, Freehold Raceway Mall and Six Flags Great Adventure.
